Crown Point High School Athletics

Crown Point and Merrillville battled to a 0-0 draw through regulation and both overtime periods before the Bulldogs pulled out the win in a penalty shootout. Crown Point dominated possession and created the majority of scoring chances throughout the match, but couldn’t find the finishing touch in open play. Senior goalkeeper Edward “Eddie” Sundblad was outstanding, making two saves in the shootout and then stepping up to convert a penalty kick of his own. With the result, Crown Point improved to 8-5-3 overall for the regular season, heading into sectional play with strong momentum and confidence in their defensive grit and depth.
